MMK: COUNTERING THE PANDEMIC
Measures taken to reduce the risk of infection
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, MMK continues to operate as a continuous cycle enterprise. In this situation, the main task is to take care of the health of employees and reduce the risk of their infection. Therefore, the Company is actively working to disinfect its sites, in particular, by working with two specialised organisations. The areas which are being disinfected include shop floor areas, administrative buildings, checkpoints, parking areas, pedestrian sidewalks and crossing points. At the moment, the total area being covered amounts to more than 5 million square metres.
Two specialised systems were recently purchased. Each of them consists of a diesel generator, a tank with a volume of two cubic metres, a pumping unit and a turbine. This installation allows for fine dispersion of the disinfectant solution. The unit is installed on a trailer, and then begins to douse the territory of MMK with solution, thereby disinfecting it.
The chief engineer of one of the specialised organisations 'Orelstroymash' Alexander Ermakov said that the device works on the principle of mixing disinfectant and water. After the concentrate is mixed, the device sprays it through the gun. The unit has 12 nozzles that supply the disinfectant solution for spraying.
To combat COVID-19, abacterial and nanodez are used, which have been long proven as effective disinfectants and are widely used in many companies. According to Alexander Ermakov, these products are harmless to humans and plants.
Disinfection procedures are carried out daily in two stages. Fr om 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 20:00. The routes are determined taking into account wh ere volumes of pedestrian traffic are highest.
