MMK: COUNTERING THE PANDEMIC
MMK develops new rules for acceptance and handling of shifts
To reduce the risk of the spread of coronavirus infection, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has developed recommendations for the organisation of shift acceptance and handover, which covers the main behaviour requirements for MMK employees on the production site.
All MMK shift-work meetings will be cancelled. Information that needs to be passed to employees of the division to organise an efficient and safe production process must be communicated in other ways (via telephone, printouts etc.).
All handshakes and other contact that violates the safe social distance of at least 1.5 metres, including in places where food is consumed, must not take place.
When coming into contact with door handles, railings, elevator buttons and other surfaces that are touched by a large number of people, it is recommended to use gloves, napkins, cloth or other material that prevent direct contact of body parts with these objects.
It is necessary to avoid the accumulation of personnel in Company premises; there should not be more than 2-3 people at control posts unless production processes require it.
Before starting work, each employee must disinfect contact surfaces at their workplace (control panel, knobs, buttons, switches, panels etc.), door handles (on both sides of the door), switches, table and chair surfaces, office equipment, telephones etc.. To do this, managers in the workshops must provide employees with the necessary material for disinfection (disinfectant liquid, cloth, wipes etc.).
Throughout the working day, each employee is required to ensure cleanliness and order in the workplace, as well as quality control of disinfecting procedures by cleaning companies in public areas (canteens, staff rooms, bathrooms etc.).
Throughout the entire working day, employees must observe the rules of personal and public hygiene, they must regularly wash their hands with soap or treat them with hand sanitiser.
At the end of the working day, each employee is required to collect and dispose of waste at their workplace.
Plant managers are required to organise daily monitoring of the implementation of these rules.
