Photo Show "Faces without Lustre"
In the summer of 2010 the Magnitogorsk Art Gallery hosted a photo show "Faces without Lustre" which featured over a hundred photos by four well-known photographers from Magnitogorsk: Andrei Serebriakov, Dmitry Rukhmaliov, Vasily Makarenko and Igor Lagunov. The photos portrayed people working at the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, as well as MMK's impressive industrial landscapes.
- Industrial Gallery
The Industrial Gallery section is an exhibition of paintings by Magnitogorsk artists of different generations. The section captures the spirit of romanticized enthusiasm characteristic of the nation-wide drives to build large-scale industrial projects in the Russia of the 1930's and later decades.
In the paintings the artists attempt to redefine Magnitogorsk through its iconic component, the Iron and Steel Works. They reset the reality to a new starting point giving rise to a new perception of the industrial environment.
